You've nailed the reason I posted this - because depression lies, and tells me I've done nothing with my life because I don't fit the family mold of doing big noteworthy things. My grandmother ran the Jewish Credit Union of Indianapolis. My grandfather founded the Boys Club of Indianapolis during the Depression. My mom doesn't help, lamenting that I've "wasted my education" by refusing to practice law, and that I "should have been a judge", and anything less is a waste of potential.
So I put it where I can go back and read it, and remind myself that in my own much quieter way, I've done my share as well.
